The heist occurred on Dec. 29 at about 12:20 a.m. and was captured on video by surveillance cameras.

Initially, the crook seemed like a customer and even began to purchase an item, police said. But when the cashier opened the register, the robber threatened him and demanded money. The clerk complied.

The robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading westbound on Bloomfield Avenue. He was described as white and 6 feet tall with an average build. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
